known trainer for over 30 years, relocated Doug Thompson Training
Center, LLC to his new thirty-stall state of the art facility
west of Austin in May 2003. The central location of DTTC's new
facility makes it readily accessible from Dallas/Fort Worth,
Houston and San Antonio, as well as Austin. The hill country
beauty, cultural events, lakes, spas and vineyards are added
attractions for clients visiting their horses at DTTC. The beautiful
surroundings in this resort community make a spectacular background
for training horses.

The primary goal
of our trainers is to facilitate the horse and rider together
for a great ride. Our people can put their horse exactly where
they want in the arena, and use the moves they make to shape
their horse to get the look they want. We are always pursuing
"a go" out of our horses that makes their next go better.
There are ways to win a ribbon today, that may not work for tomorrow
and this is especially true of western pleasure horses. You are
showing in one hand and sacrificing straightness for the sake
of one class can really come back to bite you.
Teaching our amateurs how to make good decisions, so their rides
get better as the year goes by and they're ready to win at the
big shows, is the key to their success.
